How To Learn The Acoustic Guitar

Many experts would agree that learning the acoustic guitar is one of the best places to start. But before you start you should take some acoustic guitar lessons and get some advice on buying one first. In this article we will take a look at learning the acoustic guitar for the very first time.

How do you want to learn? This is the very first question you need to ask yourself. Does learning by video sound good to you? How about learning by book? Would you like to learn through some of the free lessons online? Do you like the idea of learning from software? Do you want to learn how to play by ear? Do you want to learn from a real person? This is a major decision that can make your experience easier or harder. You also have to take into consideration what you can afford.

Next up is setting yourself up with some time to practice everyday. You should almost practice playing everyday. However, the most realistic amount of time spent practicing would be 5 days per week. The amount of time you spend practicing each day will make a huge difference. 30 minutes per day is a good start, but you should aim for at least an hour every day to get really good.

A good tip is to practice chords and hand positions quietly. Few people do this, but it helps out allot. You can do it while you are talking to someone, watching TV, listening to music, or at just about anytime you can spare. It might seem strange at first, but it will allow for some extra practice time in that you wouldn't have otherwise had.

If you are learning your lessons from an instructor ask them if you can record all of your sessions. This is a really great idea because it allows you to review all of the things that they have taught you.

As you can probably tell there are many different ways to learn the guitar. I have provided you with some of the better ways to go about it. As you learn you should also keep in mind some good acoustic guitar songs to learn. This will help your learning process allot.
