Nashville's Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum is set in central Nashville, merely a few blocks from the saloons of Broadway and the legendary base of country music, the Ryman Auditorium.
This modern $37 million building was unveiled in 2001, and the monumental look of this extraordinary construction livens the skyline in Nashville's central amusement area.
The Museum has an incredibly vast collection to record C&W music's chronciles, and inside, the crown jewels of the aggregation are shown, depicting the account of country & western straddling over 100 years.
You'll find gems of significant recorded music, uncommon video film, changing displays, live presentations and other public programs, live broadcasts, along with, not to mention dining at SoBro Grill & Catering and shopping at the Museum Store.
Viewing the exhibits of the Museum educates and excites C&W music fans of all years and experiences, from the youngest country & western lovers to those who've loved country music for years galore.
As you pass through the display areas, you'll watch the advancement of C&W music beginning in the fields and bars of the south, all the way to the Grand Ole Opry and the megahits of our country music stars these days.
The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum is self-guided, so you can see it at your own pace - people usually take 2-3 hours. The Museum provides an Audio Tour (70 minutes), hosted by Eddie Stubbs (WSM Radio & Grand Ole Opry host), along with portions narrated by Dolly Parton, Vince Gill, and Trisha Yearwood.
The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum presents "Sing Me Back Home" as a lasting exhibit spanning two total floors of the building, an stimulating trip through the story of C&W music.
Using original recordings, objects, photos and TV footage, and interactive touchscreen panels, Sing Me Back Home soaks viewers in the sound and history of country music, and the lives and voices of its beloved stars.
As the "Sing Me Back Home" tour ends, you'll go in the Hall of Fame Rotunda, another permanent exhibit. This is the sacred room where Country Music Hall of Fame® members are respected with bronze plaques distinguishing their introduction into the Hall of Fame.
